Planning to Attend the Visayas Blogging Summit

I really wanted to meet many of my fellow virtual blogger friends in real life. So, I am planning to attend the Visayas Blogging Summit on November 27 – 28, 2010 at Iloilo City. My husband and I are planning to celebrate his birthday at Iloilo City as we attend the event.

Anyway, for those who haven’t heard, what is the Visayas Blogging Summit? Read the details below on this event:

Start Time: Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 8:00am
End Time: Sunday, November 28, 2010 at 5:00pm
Location: TBA Iloilo

The Visayas Blogging Summit & Blog Awards will be the very first event of its kind to be hosted here in Iloilo. These two events will gather bloggers from all over Visayas, invited guests from Luzon and expert speakers from different fields. The goal of the Visayas Blogging Summit (VBS) is to gather ideas and explore the potential impact of blogging on society, business and politics. The Visayas Blog Awards, on the other hand, aims to recognize notable Visayan-owned and Visayan-related blogs in their respective niches.

The Visayas Blogging Summit & Blog Awards will be hosted by the Iloilo Bloggers Organization, with the support and endorsement of Philippine Blog Awards Inc. The Iloilo Bloggers Organization is a diverse group of people who have gathered with the mission to promote blogging in Iloilo, because blogging is becoming more and more a socially relevant phenomenon.

Since I am the new owner of this blog, I opted to share with you why I bought this domain of all others. Well, I really like the domain name because it really suggests how my life is right now – very colorful just like crayons because of my children! Aside from that, my children certainly loves drawing stuffs with their pencils and coloring them with their crayons!

So, I continued the name of this blog as Crayons and Pencils but tagged it differently with the new line: Life is Colorful When You Have Kids. And I think most moms agree with me!

“Crayons and Pencils” was previously owned by Mommy Riza of Cotton Candy Buzz. After a few online chats, we have closed the deal and this domain was sold to me. So starting with this post, I am the new owner of http://www.crayonsnpencils.info.

By the way, why did I retain the old posts of Mommy Riza? Well, as much as I wanted to have all the posts authored by me, for SEO purposes, I decided to retain all posts. Besides, it would be very nice to have an instant old domain right?

Adolescence in Acne, Acne in Adolescence

My son has been complaining about having acne all the time, he said that he feels inferior about it. No matter how much I tell him that it’s part of adolescence, he seems not convinced. We have tried a number of home-made remedies and over the counter drugs to help him prevent from having breakouts, but we cannot really do anything since he has to pass through this stage. I told him that if worst comes to worst, he might need a dermatologist to prescribe him the right drug for acnes. However, taking precaution is the best way to combat further problems especially when taking medications, there’s an online article I read about the implications that a strong dosage can do to a person, and it also mentioned about an accutane lawyer, who handles cases for people that are victim of the negative side effects of this drug. Accutane is only for severe acne infection, however it does have a bad side to it, if pregnant women takes this, there’s a big chance that their babies would develop complications and worst permanent damage. Like what I explain to my child, it doesn’t really matter if he has a lot of acne on his face because this is just a phase.

Probability of my searchability

It seems that I’m getting too bored at home and I’m having this anxiety attack of not having anything to do. Lately, all I’ve been doing is lurk around blogs and I found that most of them have a page ranking of 3 to 4 which made me think about the status of my blogs. It’s not that I’m complaining, but online marketing has had a big role in my blogging experience. Without these internet marketing companies, I wouldn’t have been able to stretch my budget and send my kids to school. You see, being a blogger also made me dab my hands on SEO or search engine optimization, this is where you improve your site’s searchability when someone has a query for example if you’re looking for cupcake recipes. Another is when a pregnant woman wants to learn more about the baby she’s carrying all she has to do is type away any word that would fetch her the answers for example pregnancy or weeks in pregnancy. The past months has been an awakening to me, earning money online told me that I can continue independence but I still need to work on it.

So anyway, like what I’m trying to say, I mayleave the blogging world for a little while and search for employment becausereally, I wanted to do something more than just sit infront of my computer allday –which is what I’ve been doing all the time nowadays. My knowledge about internet marketing and improvement on my writing skill may come in handy doing my resume. My children have allgrown and embarking on a different journey of their lives, so I guess it’s timethat this mommy look after herself now. Happy weekends!

Most of the time it’s difficult to make the child stay in one place, finding a good strategy to keep them busy in one place has become a challenge to parents and guardians. But fortunately, we haven’t run out of ideas yet, because there’s an activity that not only children enjoy doing, even the grown ups never outgrow them, and that is Build Your Own Castle out of Construction Paper! Yep, this is a good way of diverting and holding a child’s attention and be a good inexpensive type of entertainment for the whole family.
