To Upgrade or Not

That is the question for me. If you spend a lot of time on the internet, you would need a system that can connect fast and is not bogged down by all the many things that often bog down computers. These days there is no need to settle for old models that are slow and bulky as there are many top netbooks that can be obtained for very reasonable prices.

The thing with them is that they are lighter to carry around and are really fast. Although they do not have a lot of memory, if you have an external hard drive, that should take care of things for you.

So the question for me now is whether to upgrade or not. I’m still thinking about it.

A Google a Day Keeps the Cobwebs Away

I recently read from Zen Habits how you can make sure that your brain works properly, and one of the tips I found extremely useful was the one on using the Internet. See, apparently if you do various searches on the Internet, you are actually learning a lot, and in turn exercising your brain. So yes, you can enter various types or concepts you never heard of before like “m-drol”, “myopia”, “Cassiopeia” or whatever tickles your fancy.

So today, Mr. G and I became friends as I traversed the world of the unknown. We discovered various places that I have never heard of before. We checked out monuments, history, and current events. All that in a single hour! It is more than what I had hoped for, but I did learn more than just the usual gossip about Justin Bieber or whoever the hot topic is of the day.

You should try it too. You could learn a lot just by searching randomly over the Internet.

Communication Made More Personal

I’ve been working from home for quite some time now and I have to say that with the advancements in technology, it’s now easier for me to communicate with clients and even some of the people I work with. We can send e-mail correspondence to one another, make PC to PC calls and chat with one another through Instant Messaging and all these happens in real-time.

But there’s one form of communication that I would like to try or experience. I would like to make or be a recipient of a conference call. Conference calling, I think, is a more personal way of communicating with someone. It’s perfect if a project involves more than two persons and something important needs to be addressed.

There’s even video conferencing now, right? Of course, being in a conference call means being available any time of the day especially if one or more people in the call lives in another part of the world.

Xbox or Wii

Since my husband sold our PS2, I am planning to get my children a new gaming console. I am thinking of getting an xbox or a wii. As for my children, my son wants us to buy an xbox while my eldest daughter wanted a wii. As a mom, I am trapped in between.

Since, I don’t have the budget yet; I told them that we should think more about it about which one to buy. We must know the games and the benefits of each. But if I were to choose, I want to buy a wii since I want to slim down and we all know playing with it would make us sweat and burn fat!!

Horseshoe Pit

I posted several weeks ago that my latest favorite Facebook game is FrontierVille. And because it’s my super favorite game, I would almost do anything just to get all the latest decorations and items they have.

Right now, they have the horseshoe pit. I really wanted to have it so I bought the foundation at the market place. Since some of the items needed to build the horseshoe pit requires you to play some of Zynga’s games from the cohiba cigars smoker in Mafia Wars, to gourmet chefs in Café World, to the old school farming at FarmTown and others, I have no choice but to play them all just to reach the required level so that the items will be granted. That is how I am addicted to the game right now!

So far, I haven’t completed my horseshoe pit yet. I hope I can finished it by the end of this week. Anyway, how about you? Do you have a preferred game at Facebook?

Kid Gamer, now live in action

Hey everyone, just to let you know, I created a game site for my one and only daughter; Kid Gamer. Since my daughter loves to play online games a lot, and I noticed that the games aren’t really appropriate for her; for one they are mostly violent if not sexually suggestive. One example is the Kissing Game in a bowling alley.

While bowling, not easy to put a kiss to her. There are around people who play bowling, very close friends of the couple. I need to get caught. Help them.

The goal is to get caught kissing in public.

So my solution to this dilemma is to create her own site with my only approved games. We are also looking for exposure; she wanted to have a lot of link exchanges, but I told her that I will only accept moms (and dads) and other kids who may have blogs. If you want us to advertise your site or blog for free, please do send me a comment here along with the link of your preferred size of ad banner or box.
